This painting is divided into two parts by a hand with a sleeve that highlights the words Montreal Protocol. Thus, it is the most effective protocol to prevent ozone depletion, and on that hand is surrounded by flags of some countries in the Asia-Pacific region which have been using the Khmer Royal dance style, meaning leaves to support a circle, which features as letter O₃, also known as Ozone. Generally, it means various countries in the region must unite under the Montreal Protocol to prevent ozone layer in order to ensure the sustainability of our planet.
On left side of the hand highlights the ozone layer, which is cracked by many human-caused factors. This section identifies some of the causes of ozone depletion, such as factory exhaust fumes, spray cans, refrigerators, air conditioners, and products that contain ozone depleting substances such as Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) etc. In addition, it also shows some effects such as global warming, climate change, melting of polar ice caps that can cause floods, rising sea levels, causing famine, drought especially affected to life on earth, such as humans, animals, plants, etc., due to the decline in the ability of Ultra-violation of ozone.
However, on the other right hand side shows a planet with a strong ozone layer that favors life on Earth, people, animals in the air, on the ground and in water, as well as providing people with sufficient water, food, vegetables, fruits, fish, abundant meat and green landscapes. Furthermore, our participation in maintaining the ozone layer through daily activities such as the use of environmentally friendly means of transport, cycling, walking, etc., especially the use of natural ventilation systems by opening windows or doors. Besides, it shows the government's focus on the conservation of the ozone layer by launching measures as well as a clear strategic plan to manage substances that can affect the ozone layer, For instance, Cambodia has completely eliminated Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) used since 2010 and recently Cambodia is now underway plan to eliminate hydrofluorocarbons (HCFs), which is a substance with high global warming potential in the near future. Moreover, the painting also features portraits of vaccinated women and farmers and also significantly shows the use of air conditioners that do not contain ozone depleting substances to store the vaccine because the demand for vaccines is definitely huge, which requires the use of environmentally friendly air conditioners and encourages people to get vaccinated to protect themselves from the deadly Covid-19 disease.
