My painting depicts a sunset that we often see in the Cook Islands sky. The bright and warm colors represent the warm temperatures of our tropical home and the rising temperatures of our earth’s climate. The fire extinguisher represents our efforts to cool down our earth and heal our ozone layer by phasing out the use of ozone depleting substances. The ultraviolet rays in my painting represent the dangers of ultraviolet radiation reaching our earth’s surface, and the potential harmful effects UV-B radiation poses to all life on earth.
