Industrialization has quickened the depletion of the ozone layer. Without this protective layer, harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays will be able to reach earth’s surface. These rays cause skin cancers and cataracts in humans and immune deficiencies in humans and animals. The growth of plants will also be affected which is the basis of the food chain. Ozone depletion, temperatures rising, sea levels falling will lead to a mass extinction on earth.
In the other hand if we humans use renewable energy resources such as solar power, hydropower, wind power, reduce emissions of pollutants, we recover the ozone layer.
