Ozone is the Earth's natural sunscreen, absorbing the sun's most dangerous UV rays and shielding life below. However, certain chemicals produced by humans that reach the high atmosphere endanger ozone. When they arrive, they react with sunlight to destroy ozone molecules.
The ozone layer works as an invisible screen, shielding us from the sun's harmful ultraviolet (UV) rays. The ozone layer, in particular, protects us against the UV-B radiation that causes sunburn.
Protecting the ozone layer means protecting the Earth and Yourself!
