“This photograph uses makeup and camera techniques to portray the contrast between skin that is protected by a healthy ozone layer, on one half of her face versus the adverse effects of ozone depletion shown on the other half.. This image is called, ‘Baked for the Gods’ depicting a woman, symbolic of the earth who could potentially suffer skin diseases because of her constant use of aerosols shown rolled into her hair. Makeup, applied in layers, represents the ozone protection, and depletion on the opposite side of the gradual UV line shows the skin raw and vulnerable to damaging impacts.”
